I wouldn't have had the luxury of quitting "just because" I was unhappy, not without another job lined up, as you say.<br /><br />I know someone who's similarly unhappy at their job, but because they <i>are</i> the sole breadwinner for their family, they have to stick out an unsatisfying job.
